Mustaine Reveals Which New Megadeth Song Is The Fastest Ever

If you feel the craving, the need for speed, Megadeth has you covered. But after nearly 40 years of career, Dave Mustaine reveals what he thinks is the fastest song Megadeth has ever recorded. This descriptor goes to the recently released track “Night Stalkers”.

By speaking with guitar worldproclaimed the Megadeth frontman, “I think it’s the fastest song we’ve ever done – 190 bpm – and it took a while to get up to that speed.”

He went on to add, “The song just needed that freaking beat because Night Stalker is a secret army helicopter division. They fly missions at night and nobody knows what they’re going to do until for that to happen. Ice-T actually awesome [acting] parts of the song.”

The song was released late last month, and while chatting with Guitar World, Mustaine revealed why Ice-T was the perfect collaborator for the track. “I’ve been friends with Ice-T for a long time,” he explained. “When we first met in Los Angeles he told me he was an army ranger so it was only natural that I asked him to do this because I wanted to find a great musician who has credibility as a military person. I asked him if he did a spoken part and he gave me so many good ones it was hard to decide which one to use.”
